Hey Everybody!!!
Let’s talk for a minute about being realistic in your expectations.
What are you hoping to achieve eating the THM way?
I see so many of you getting hung up on those numbers on the scale and it makes me a bit …crazy. I’ve said repeatedly that the scale is a liar and that you shouldn’t put all of your hopes and dreams into what it says.
We give that dratted piece of equipment …entirely too much power.
* The power to rule our lives.
* The power to decide whether or not we feel good about ourselves.
* The power to dictate if we are going to have a good day or not.
* The power to make us go off the rails on eating binges
* Why do we continually do that to ourselves?
Shouldn’t we be more focused on things like…
- I’m feeling so much better
- I’m not waking up in pain any more
- I’m not as stiff and achy
- My head is clearer…I can think!
- My tummy is flatter
- I have clearer skin, and longer thicker healthier hair.
- I have so much more energy – I can keep up with the little ones!
- I’m constantly hiking my pants up, because they’re falling off of me!
Let’s take a minute here and process this… even if you haven’t lost a single solitary pound since being plan…focus on how you actually physically feel?
Is your overall sense of well being better than it used to be?
This plan is about healing the body…first and foremost…the weight loss is secondary. This is NOT a diet in any sense of the word. THM is about nourishing your body properly, helping it to heal, re-balance and reset. The weight loss is a bonus.
Put it in the right perspective…and focus on the good it’s doing for you and less on the weight loss. Once everything is in line, the weight will fall in line as well.
Giving up… stopping the plan because the scale is not moving…means giving up on yourself. Aren’t you worth the effort it requires to nourish your body and treat yourself right for a change? The effort you put into everything else and every one else? Shouldn’t some of that now go into you? You ARE worth it, ya know?!
Stay the course. Stay committed and be good to “you”. It’ll pay off in the end.
Happy THMing yall!
I wonder what the average age is for participants in this group. Seems like we abuse our bodies over indulging in all the wrong things for years then somewhere between 40-80 we decide to try and heal all the damage we have done to our bodies. Only wish I would have found this plan/lifestyle 40 years ago and I continue to pray more younger women find this plan and a great drill Sargent sooner rather than later.
So true. We do an awful lot of damage to ourselves…mostly from misinformation and simple ignorance. Wish I knew then, what I know now.
I will be 55 this October.
