Achieving flavorful brown rice at the perfect consistency, is not an easy task. Growing up Panamanian, where perfect, fluffy, white rice was a staple in our household, I wanted to achieve a similar texture and consistency with its much healthier brown version. So here it is! Hope you like it!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp buttery coconut oil
- 2 cups brown rice I used brown basmati
- 2 tsp SweetEs Flavor Smack seasoning
- 3 1/2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Heat coconut oil in large skillet
- Add rice and toast, on high heats, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes- do not let it burn.
- Add Flavor Smack and broth- mix well, cover and reduce heat to low.
- Allow to cook for 40 minutes, stirring at halfway point.
