A flavorful gentle carb dessert or breakfast bar, take your pick. Have it anytime you’re in the mood for some energizing carbs. This dish has 3 layers, but comes together pretty quickly, so no worries.
Ingredients
Layer 1
- 1 cup oats ground into flour I keep this stuff in my pantry
- 1/3 cup SweetEs fusion sweet
- 1/3 cup 0% Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp mineral salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp aluminum free baking powder
Layer 2
- Cooking spray
- 1 cup whole oats
- 1/3 cup SweetEs fusion sweet
- 1/8 tsp mineral salt
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp egg whites
Layer 3
- 1 recipe Salted Caramel Apple Topping
Instructions
- Combine all Layer 1 ingredients in bowl.
- Mix well, then scrape into lightly sprayed 8x8 dish. Set aside
- Make Layer 2 by spraying oats lightly with cooking spray, then combining all other ingredients in bowl and mixing well. (You spray the oats so that the other dry ingredients will adhere to them)
- Spread on top of layer 1
- Place in preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for 15 minutes
- While bars are baking, make Salted Caramel Apple Topping- set aside.
- Remove bars from oven, top with Salted Caramel Apple Topping, return to oven cook an additional 5 minutes.

1. Do you mean lightly ‘sprayed’? 2. Do you mean spray oats, put on top, then combine remaining ingredients, or spray oats and combine with other ingredients. Sorry, I am confused.
Lightly spray the oats with coconut oil cooking spray, or other cooking oil spray, in order to moisten them lightly with oil for this step in the recipe.

I am allergic to eggs, how can I substitute the egg whites for this recipe?
Hi Shannon, you can sub unsweetened apple sauce in place of egg whites. Same amount. It’s used for “binding”.
